Rejoneo bullfight with bulls from Luis Albarrán for: Andy Cartagena Leonardo Hernández Manuel Manzanares
The first of the three bullfights of the Ciudad Real Fair was a triumph, as all three matadors left the arena on the shoulders of the crowd. Morante de la Puebla displayed his refined artistry in both of his bulls, while El Juli and Sebastián Castella delivered two outstanding faenas to their first opponents. It was a remarkable afternoon, made even better by the large attendance.

1st event of the Virgen del Prado Fair. Over three-quarters full on a pleasant afternoon. Six bulls from Torrealta, well presented and of very good quality; the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th were applauded when dragged out. The 5th and 6th offered fewer options and were booed.

The second bullfight of the Virgen del Prado Fair ended up as a mano a mano between the two leading local matadors, Fernando Tendero and Emilio Huertas, both of whom earned the right to exit through the main gate. Tendero cut one ear from the third and another from the fifth, standing out for his composure and skill with the sword. Huertas cut both ears from the second bull after a brilliant faena with the muleta.

The Virgen del Prado Fair in Ciudad Real came to a triumphant close, with both Andy Cartagena and Leonardo Hernández leaving through the main gate after cutting three ears each from their Luis Albarrán bulls. Manuel Manzanares left on foot, but not empty-handed, having earned one ear from the bull that closed the fair. The afternoon was also notable for the strong presence of children in the stands — rejoneo continues to be a breeding ground for new fans.
